where there’s darkness
“An artist using “negative space” relies on the space that surrounds a subject to provide shape and meaning.” With Noma Bar’s work this negative connotation can also sum up the feeling of discomfort his work induces when faced with the difficult issues he sometimes deals with.
His work is made up of simple graphic forms which provide stark political or social commentary. However not all of his pieces focus on the negative many depict humorous images. This duality reflects his playful yet politically minded personality.
