Anna LomaxLuxury Goods
We are excited to infinity and beyond! Anna Lomax takes over KK Outlet’s gallery space throughout September 2015.
Maker and collector. Born and bred South East Londoner. Artist / art director / set designer. Anna creates installations, sculpture and images, often collaborating with brands and fashion labels but always following her own path. Anna’s work takes the old, the new, the bizarre, the unrecognisable and often humorous, reimagined, reinvented and reassembled.
Luxury Goods is dedicated to brand new and retrospective works, created out of a love for a ‘genuine fake’ and the idea of what the notion of luxury can mean, developing a playful and colourful response to the strange and sometimes humorous things that Anna collects. The work is focused on a continuing fascination with the pound shop, the seemingly unattainable and the place Anna calls home – London.
The show explores ideas around material, replacing the authentic with the fake, the enduring with the disposable and the line between mass production and the limited edition resulting in a new body of work involving uncomfortable pairings, glossy finishes, bright lights, with a sense of nostalgia and a longing for fantasy objects. Expect neon, prints, holograms, terrazzo marble, brass and much much more.
Join us at the exhibition launch party, 3rd September 7-9pm. A big thank you to Wray & Nephew, who’re generously providing drinks for the opening night, white overproof rum cocktails served in Anna Lomax hand carved baby watermelons adorned with logos.
